SOAR After School Program Cohort Lead (College)/Limited Defined Employee (LDE) (5 Positions)

3:00 pm – 6:00 pm
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the SOAR Program Director and the Shiloh Hills Principal, this position is responsible for implementing the SOAR after school program activities. This position is also responsible for collaborating with teachers in supporting homework activities during after school program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Work cooperatively and positively with staff.
- Assist with Homework Help time and recreational activities under the direction of the SOAR program director.
- Use a variety of strategies to lead a group of students through after-school activities, including sports, arts/crafts, and STEM activities.
- Supervise recreation time and supper for a group of students.
- Work directly with the SOAR Program Director in the development, implementation, and delivery of SOAR initiatives and curriculum.
- Organize, develop, and coordinate special SOAR events/activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with K-5 students.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Evidence of planning, organization, and time management skills that will bring structure and accountability to the position.
- Ability to supervise students and groups of students in a range of after school activities.
- Ability to collaborate with teachers regarding student learning.
- Desire to continue learning “what works” in classroom instruction.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Ability to multi-task and work independently.
- Ability to handle complaints with patience and efficiency.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines.
- Ability to project a positive and concerned image to the public.
- Ability to handle complaints with patience and efficiency.
- Knowledge of school operations, preferred.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.

The Salary Range for SOAR Cohort Leads is a Min $16.50/hr – Max $18.50/hr rate. College Student Temporary SOAR Cohort Leads will accrue 1 hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked.
